This is an assignment for "Audio for Game Development & Animation" class at the Art Institute of Washington, Fall Quarter of 2013. The requirement is to design an alien musician and do the lip-sync animation to any audio of your choice. I used the audio track from Avril Lavigne's performance at the 2003 MTV Icon's Metallica tribute concert which can be found here
(youtube.com/watch?v=qJWajkvVMPU). For the character, I just tweaked one of my old character designs.

This is the original concept that I cooked up 3 years ago.

Software Used: Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe After Effects CS6

Material and Lighting (Bioshock Infinite, Giant Monster books and more!)

These are the highlights of Material and Lighting assignments I did during the Summer quarter of 2013 at the Art Institute of Washington.

1. One of the earliest assignments. We had to texture a simple cube. I decided to go with the Tesseract look.

2. This room is modeled by an instructor from Digital Tutors by the name of Kyle Green. (I think)

and I just lit and textured the scene. Check it out.

3. This is the final assignment of the class. The requirement is to UV unwrap and texture a head model. (You can either go with your own model or if you didn't have one, texture a pre-made head). I happen to have modeled my own head and hand last quarter in Hard Surface & Organic Modeling class, and Bioshock Infinite's the game I'd been playing during that time. So, a game-inspired piece seems like a tempting direction to go for this assignment. Here they are...my final renders.

Animation Studio Class

for Animation Studio Class, I decided to go with 3D Modeling.
Requirement: A biped, a multiped, and a hard-surfaced character.

So, these are my submissions.
1. Widdle Wocketeer for a bi-ped. He's my take on the classic hero "The Rocketeer"

It was a fun class. I learned how to UV unwrap successfully for the first time and had a blast texture mapping all these guys.

This is the assignment I did for Hard Surface and Lighting class in Ai Washington.
It's done in 3ds Max.
This is just an experimental project with lots of trial and error (My very first time modeling a realistic human face).

One day I got bored at school and decided to draw a chameleon version of him. That's how it started out.

This is a commission I did way before the movie came out. (ended up taking lots of screenshots from the trailer for the photo reference)

With the exception of the logo, emerald city, and hotair balloon, everything else is hand-painted.

I signed the release form. So, my client owns this painting now.
